About the program
Mivel az IBDP angol nyelven futó program, így ezt a rövid leírást is csak angolul teszem közzé. Ha mégis magyarul érdeklődnél róla, keress bátran és örömmel megválaszolom a kérdéseid.
As IBDP is an English language program, this short description is published only in English. If you have questions about the program in Hungarian, feel free to contact me and I will be happy to answer them.
Th official website of the program is the following: https://www.ibo.org/, which is the source of the information I mention below.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a two-year course at the end of which students take a final examination.
IB mission statement:
„The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. The Diploma Programme core (Theory of Knowledge- TOK, Extended Essay-EE, Creativity, activity, service-CAS) and 6 subject groups (Studies in language and literature, Sciences, Language acquisition, Individuals and societies, Mathematics, Arts) together creates the curriculum.
Biology can be found within the Sciences subject group.
Students can learn the subject at Standard (SL) and Higher level (HL).
The following table summarizes the syllabus content and the recommended teaching hours for SL and HL courses.
